SOCIETY OF MOOTERS



The Society of Mooters has been an active and prominent student organization at the University Law College since its inception 27 years ago. Today, it still stands strong as one of the foremost student organizations at University Law College.

The University Law College (ULC) hosts an annual national moot court tournament that stands as the crowning achievement of the Mooters’ Association student body. This year the Society of Mooters is proud to organize the 28th edition of the All India Moot Court Competition, 2024. This competition is a national-level event that brings together some of the brightest and the most distinguished minds from across the country. This has created a wonderful opportunity for students and the legal fraternity to build a lasting relationship. The competition further distinguishes itself from other such events due to its commitment to ensuring fairness in decision and judgment. The competition attracts participants from law schools across the country, and the final rounds are presided over by judges from the Karnataka High Court. The competition holds a coveted spot among the best moot court events in the country.

The All India Moot Court Competition boasts an impressive panel of judges, having continuously operated for 26 years. Recent years’ final rounds have been judged by Hon’ble Justice Dr. H.B. Prabhakara Sastry, Hon’ble Justice S.R. Krishna Kumar, Hon’ble Justice Siddaiah Rachaiah, Hon’ble Justice Ashok G. Nijagannavar, Hon’ble Justice Padmaraj Nemachandra Desai, Hon’ble Justice Shivashankar Amarannavar, and Hon’ble Justice Shivashankar Amarannavar.

Distinguished guests have inaugurated the 25th and 26th editions of the AIMCC, including the Hon’ble Dr. Justice N. Santosh Hegde, a former Supreme Court Judge; Shri Prabhuling Navadgi, the Advocate General Of Karnataka; and Shri Vivek Subba Reddy, the President of the Advocate Association, Bengaluru. The preliminary rounds of the competition are evaluated by prominent graduates of University Law College, Bangalore University, with an average turnout of 30 teams every year.
